From http://www.google.com/search?num=20&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&oi=defmore&q=define:Blog+--+(weB+LOG):

Quote:

A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. Postings on a blog are almost always arranged in cronological order with the most recent additions featured most prominantly.

No, that's a lot of work. You could use WordPress, my favourite. But there are many more around.

I made my own Wink but I like a challenge! Basically it allows me to do what I want with it, work things exactly as I want them to be... but I imagine 90% are using other software as given above.

You know you're a geek when you try to shoo a fly away from the monitor with your cursor.

Blog

http://www.blogger.com

http://www.xanga.com

These two are good blogs. I'm a member of both blogs Laughing out loud
Blogger has a tool for implementing blog on your own webpage (even when you're using free-hosting, provided they allow FTP access).

Xanga has a good community concepts, one of the places to make friends, they may even have community from your own country or state.
