I know it's early, but is anyone going to, or thinking of going to, the WSG meeting in London in July?

Web Standards Meet - July/London

dammit - why is it that when there's fiiiiinally something worthwhile on that doesn't cost £500 to attend - I can't go!!

I'm in Legoland that day and off to Cornwall the day after so a jaunt into London would be a bad idea.

My strategy is so simple an idiot could have devised it!

lol. My friends and I were considering going to Legoland around then too! I'm off to Cornwall in a few weeks as well. Small world!

It's in the evening, so it doesn't have to take up your whole day!

I would if I was at home that night but I'll be in a hotel in Slough (oooh glam) with the kids/husband

Fair do's (ooo.. Sluff!), and [email protected] acting like some sales-woman. I'm just excited, because this is the first proper "web dev" type event I will have attended.

It'd be nice to go. The @Media things are very expensive for little people like me.

Although I have a sneaking suspicion that there'll be some bloke with a laptop and a satellite connection going round checking all our sites for validity etc Shock and publicly humiliating anyone he finds who fails!

Yeah, scary. I mean, I'm not that shy IRL, but I do suffer slightly from fan-girldom when meeting people I respect/admire/want to be (kid'n).

I'm hoping to get tickets for d.Construct in Brighton in September since it's just a day conference, but they sold out fast last year. Sad

I'm with you there and I ain't kidding. Chris Heilmann is a sweety-cutie-pie. I'm sure Andy is too but I've already got his latest book Wink
d.construct is an entirely different matter (Feather is my hero, but I've not met him). I signed up to be notified, back along, but I expect I'll miss out on tickets and have to rely on the podcasts or endless reports/discussion on other people's blogs. At least it's in September this year because Brighton in November was sooo... bracing.

I bet! Brighton should be nice still in September.

I'm on the feed too, but I'm bound to be AFK that day, knowing my luck.

Should we pretend to be "footie" fans and hang around outside for the ticket touts to come along?

Oh, not a bad idea. Not sure I'd do a very convincing "footie fan" though. Crying

I find obsessively checking my aggregator helps!

Just so you know, the registration date has been announced as 17th July, at 10am. Smile http://2006.dconstruct.org/register/

Yeah, me too. My heart jumps a beat everytime something on my RSS aggregator pops up in the taskbar with something entitled "d.construct". At least now I can stop being paranoid, until Monday morning.

lol. They just changed the date to the 18th. I hope they've made up their minds now. It'd suck if they moved it back!
