Okay, well to try to get a little more talented with css i am going to start making logos strictly with css and xhtml - no graphics.

I have many ideas, am going to do the House MD logo (tried it once, but will do it better this time) and I am going to do the Mad About You logo. If anyone else has any resonable requests or ideas please let me know.

As I get them done I will post them here.

Wish me luck!

...in which case you might find inspiration and ideas at Stu Nicholls' site. He was a regular on this forum when I first joined!

The link I gave is to Stu's splash page, which leads to the page in your link.

While you're at it, consider having a go at making the "valid" buttons out of CSS. There's a lot of examples on the net:

http://www.sovavsiti.cz/css/w3c_buttons.html

but I think the HTML is way overcomplicated, you could have a go at that?

One of my avatars is from a screen cap of html+css.

The header I used for all those pages my host no longer serves up is straight html+css.

#pageheader {
    border: 0 none;
    display: table;
    width: 60%;
    }

#pageheader p {
    color: #a00;
    float: left;
    font-family: georgia, serif;
    font-size: 2em;
    font-weight: bold;
    line-height: 1.2;
    margin: 0.67em 0 0;
    }

#pageheader p span.light {
    color: #669;
    float: right;
    font-size: .75em;
    font-weight: normal;
    }

#pageheader a {
    display: block;
    color: #a00;
    text-decoration: none;
    }

#pageheader hr {
    clear: both;
    height: 1px;
    color: #999;
    background-color: #999;
    margin: 0 0 0 2em;
    }

.kern {
    letter-spacing: -.1em;
    }
===============
    <div id="pageheader">
      <p><a href="../index.html">Gary <span class=
      "kern">T</span>urner’s<br />
      <span class="light">html and css playpen</span></a></p>

      <hr />
    </div>

That's a bit dumbed down from the original, so IE can render it. Using the hr is putting presentation in the html in this case.

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
