This I did in about an hour the other night. It needs much yet but the basic layout will probably stay. You can only do what the client provides especially in this case as it is for my Dr and much of what he wants are technical,# Endometriosis, # Obesity, Tubal Reanastomosis

http://www.bigdawgcaps.com/1dr.htm

Some of the subjects I am waiting on my Dr getting me his writings.

What I do have is his main page and two bio's, the second being in Spanish. The text on the main page is mainly filler right now until I get more info. He recently changed clinics so this is pending.

He told me he liked pastels so the color is a very light pink. Originally I designed a much more conservative site.

PS Much of this will probably change altough this is hard to do from Dr's visits. Probably gonna schedule a sitdown lunch. Thanks

Dr site needs a check-up!

Bigdawg,

It depends on how you want the page to look. At the moment I think the layout could be improved, to a more standard 3 column look instead of the text appearing half under the menu.

You could also go for a 2 column layout with pics under the menu.

Also watch thew gap between the text and the second pic, as they are so close on one page it looks like the pic is overlapping.

Day

Actually I wanted a slight overlap with the pic and the text but the menu thing I will change. When I host things within my server I am still playing around with and are not at the point in which I would {go live} with the site. Thanks hows everything in Australia?

I did fudge with the margins a little bit and see what you were talking about, I too noticed that but was going to get to it later. Laughing out loud

Please don't use Comic Sans. That is a terrible mistake. I agree with others that it may be better as a three column page.

I agree about the Comic SANS as you see it was not used throughout but I will change the heading actually I may be placing a banner there!

Australia is good thanks BigDog, but am already wishing for summer!!

Hope you received many pictures of Bikini clad women for your Spring Break site!!

On the overlap under the menu - It would be ok I suppose if you could do something about the gap at the top. I personally prefer to have it more ordered for my eyes. As my wife says - just an old fuddy duddy.

Dr site needs a check-up!

Well Day I took your advice and here is a three column, looks good in IE but the pic does not stay in alignment in Firefox. Not really crazy about the links yet as the need some additional styling. It is only one page so none of the links work other than to the previous bio!

Any ideas on Firefox?

Bigdawg

You set the right hand column as 160px wide, but the image is 200px wide.

IE is compensating by incorrectly expanding the column, while FF correctly is not.

BTW much prefer the 3 column layout, it is not so confusing and does not look like everything is out of place.

Thanks The little CSS symbol throws the last paragraph out of alignment but I will take it out anyways. Yeah I am still playing around with things but it is a much cleaner look, still not crazy bout the links.

You outa have summer by now!

Requesting a Guru!

Ok I did a little coloring but in my left and right columns the color does not go to the bottom of the container, it only goes as far as my links go, I suppose I could add some more links but why does the color not extend? Thanks BD

Hi Bigdawg,
Put the background-color on the container, that way both columns will look the same color with full height and the content can have its own color.

Hope that helps
