Sometimes I get a script error that says, access is denied to hover.htc for my drop menus. There is absolutely no consistency to the errors.

Why is this happening?

Is there an alternative to using the hover.htc ?

here is an example of where it is used:
(the navigation at the top of the page) http://www.lasalle.edu/advancement/alumni

thx

access denied to hover.htc

The alternative is to use the script from this sites dropdown examples
http://www.csscreator.com/menu/multimenu.php
or from the suckerfish examples.

Moved to 'Off Topic' as this isn't really a CSS matter.

see the htc MSDN reference, last topic: Security.

Quote:
a Web page that refers to a behavior located on another server in another domain results in an "access denied" error in the page's onerror event handler. In the same way, a Web page that refers to a behavior of a different security protocol than the referring page will result in the same error.

Don't know if your html is necessarily on the same server as your htc.

Hmm. If I've said something inappropriate, let me know. Perhaps this was not intended.

Didn't mean you, Hugo. You know about searching for a bug explanation. A forum does always work for questioners, but not necessarily for repliers.
