I am completing my first real CSS driven site and everything is working well except that a particular hover attribute is giving me grief. It works fine in IE for Windows and Safari for Mac, but not FireFox or any Mozilla browser on either platform.

What I am trying to do is create my navbar with a block of color behind each text link and that color should change on hover.

This is the site: http://www.catchlight.com/index.php

This is the CSS file: http://www.catchlight.com/templates/catchlight/css/template_css.css

The specific chunk of code that I am having issues with is located toward the bottom and commented as unordered list top menu.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

[Solved] Mozilla Hover Problem

wow that is weird. I did get it working by replacing the background-color with the above one and then using your values. so, replace the hover with this and see if it works:

#mainlevel-nav a:hover {
	color: #DCDCDC;
	font-weight: bold;
	background-color: #bb6000;
	border-bottom: 2px solid #DCDCDC;
	text-decoration: none;
}

I think there's something funky going on with your BG colour text for some reason.

lmk how you get on

[Solved] Mozilla Hover Problem

There is an undefined/unknown character immediately following the hex value. Retype the background-color rule on #mainlevel-nav a:hover{}, and you should be ok. Which is pretty much what Larmy said. Smile

cheers,

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.
