Hi.

i am working on a site here http://www.mitchellpage.com.au/temp/cc/

at the moment i have a background image that repeats only along the bottom. but i would also like to have a white background image which repeats all the way down the middle of the page so that it gives the appearance that the footer extends to the bottom.

how can i do this if i have already added a background image to the page to repeat across the bottom. can i do both? thanks.

Either add another div to hold the image or use body element for one and the html element for the other.

Hugo.

I'm not clear on what you're trying to achieve with these images, if you want the footer to extend to the bottom have you not tried just extending wrapper to min-height:100%?

yes i tried that.

if you look at the site now it has a repeating png accross the bottom, but id also like to extend the white background to the bottom (i.e also have the background_strip.gif background image repeating down.

currently this isnt working, i have tried adding the background_strip.gif as the background of the wrapper div an making it min-height 100% but it didnt work

You don't really need a background-image for the bottom because all it is is a solid colour. You could use a border instead. Try adding the border to html and/or body. Then for 100% height layouts, check out: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143801
