Ugh. I've been messing with a new layout and have run into a bit of a problem with some floats and getting a background to cover the content area [which is actually empty]. I know it's bad form to ask you to just go view my source code, but I've tried explaining it three times now [editing the explanation over and over because it gets even more confusing than the source code, which is actually quite simple]. If you're looking at the page, it's that gap between the recent entries heading and the shadowed "cap" below it.

Anyhow, here's the url: http://temp.ostracons.com/ Hopefully, I won't get screamed at about this.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help.

[Solved] Floating Disaster

You haven't enclosed the floats. See enclosing float elements.

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.

[Solved] Floating Disaster

Hey, thanks for the response. I'm actually pretty embarrassed. The #clear div that I added to fix things. Well... That'd be the one I deleted when it didn't work the first time. So not only was the float not enclosed, it wasn't even there. I had the idea last night that I just needed to add height to the #clear div and that's when I noticed I'd taken it out. D'oh!

Everything works fine now. Thanks for all your help.
