Noticed it all day, actually. Forum seems really slow to respond when submitting posts; leading to a lot of double posts in forums.

Any news?

Site slowdown?

It is, just one of those things, I've noticed a few double posts, two from moderators Smile I of course realised I had and deleted it Smile

Seriously though if members could just check their posts and if they see it's posted twice just delete the second instance, although moderators can if they spy them so it's no great problem..

Site slowdown?

On my double, it wouldn't let me delete the second; said I could only delete my own posts!? When I deleted the first version, both disappeared. Well, my answer wasn't all that good, I guess.

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.

Ho Ho! Smile

In general it's been very very buggy tonight has this old forum, not incrementing post counts, showing second pages as empty when saying there are more posts to view, and lots of other strange spooky happenings, the gremlins are out tonight.

Site slowdown?

I don't think its just this forum. My net response has been patchy all day. I have had lots of timeouts, image-less and CSS-less pages from a variety of sites.

Site slowdown?

I agree with the initial complaint, both my posts and other's people's posts show up as doubles. Sometimes this manifests as two posts in one thread, sometimes people simply post twice in the same forum. Whether the latter problem is accidental I cannot tell.

The other problem, possibly technically related, is the occurrence of frequent time outs.

Thanks for looking into it

takes ages to load up a page, even longer to submit a post. finding double posts everywhere, and now can't even delete half these posts

Even stranger, either this guy is a hacker or this site suffers from more problems than structural slowdowns.

tehc, not a hacker, just prolly the only one you've noticed with 0 posts; I've noticed 3 or 4 newbs who's post count hasn't increased.

It's happening with other people I'd assume, you just can't tell as the post count is > 0.

Still doing silly buggers today. I had to delete a double post that I had only submitted once :?

Then an edit to one of my posts didn't show up so had to do it again.

And I have noticed that I haven't been receiving update reminders to some of the threads I've been watching/replying to lately. :?:

Generally a bit wobbly..... Laughing out loud

PS had to do this twice ....... Crying

I figure I will put in my two cents. I always have at least 4-5 tabs open and this is the only site that runs extremely slow...I have not double posted yet, but there are times that I have had to retype and submit a message again. (And have noticed newbies with 0 posts too).

For those of you who are looking into a solution, I appreciate your hardwork. Laughing out loud

I'm sure Tony is aware , but is a very busy person, and as I'm sure you can understand juggling many things is time consuming and maintaining a busy forum doubly so, matters will resolve in time, meanwhile if we can watch for double posts and delete them it's a help.

Site slowdown?

I open each forum at a time, and open 4-5 topics in tabs.

This isn't a slow site for me, the 3drealms forums slow down Firefox worse.

However, it does take an awful long time to post the reply and get back to the topic :?

Speed should be back to normal now.
There was a nasty log process eating up all available memory.

Things have actually been fairly stable and as per normal for the last 2 or 3 days. Thanks for looking into it, much appreciated.
