View Design 1 in Firefox and you get the background on left and right columns do not line up with the text. And can't say I like the menu using flash, a bit overkill?
Spelling mistakes in text should be fixed.
Best viewed in Enternet Explorer, not something you want to advertise

Also look at the bottom right, at the rounded corner and you'll see a few rogue pixels ?
Summing up, Tables? this is not the way they should be used, it can be done without them.
You have an external styles, but also use inline styles. Why not put them all in the external stylesheet?
Last point, the html fails validation, see here
http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fcogopca.org%2FTemplate.cfm That needs to be fixed.
I'll have a look at the other link later.

^I agree.
I just took a look at the second design and it looks much better than the first. But I think the composition is too narrow-- lots of wasted space-- although I like the colour scheme very much except the blue text, which seems a bit off.
And, as a number of the others here, I really don't believe in using tables as a layout tool.
Cheers!

Uh oh, a web designer saying view in IE and at a given res
can't say I like the menu using flash, a bit overkill?
Have to say I agree with that, I like the stuff that's going on over the logo image but I think the menu should be done in CSS instead.
Nice design (number 1), just needs touching up (as DB said the text needs sorting in firefox). I also quite like 3.
As for http://asiacogop.com/ it's a decent design - I particularly like the pictures that change and fade into each other.
All I'd say about this is that I'd change the hover colour on the links at the top, needs more of a change (something that stands out a little).

Hi,
on the california web site where it says "best viewed in IE" the underline includes the space before causing . this
nothing very important
Also there is no <title>

First and last thing ill say on this is tables! Why do people use tables for layouts? CSS is much better.
Fire away!!!
Thanks for your thoughts.
Two things,
One, I guess I posted for a Critique to soon. The sites are not up and running they are just there for the people I'm making them for and to get some feedback. The "best veiwed in IE" is perfectly fine at this stage and is just a note to the ones who need to aprove the DESIGN.
Two, Man I get It... yous Do NOt lIke Tables. OK. Now tell me something esle.

It's not about liking tables or not really, they are fine when used for tabular data, (which is their correct use), the way you have used them is for layout. This should be done using divs and css in this case.
From http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/struct/tables.html
Tables should not be used purely as a means to layout document content as this may present problems when rendering to non-visual media. Additionally, when used with graphics, these tables may force users to scroll horizontally to view a table designed on a system with a larger display. To minimize these problems, authors should use style sheets to control layout rather than tables.
Any comments :?:

Why'd you post this in a forum that promotes layout without tables if you weren't expecting anti-tables comments?

Donât mind the cretinism. But, just tell me once.
And for the reason why I posted here is âI want to do better, and Iâm obviously looking to learnâ. Each comment that is made moves me a little further.
