CSS Naked Day
Yeah man - like I'm sure all my clients will appreciate their beautiful corporate sites being replaced by pure text (semantic or otherwise) for a day ...NOT!
CSS Naked Day
I'm sorry - I know I'm a big spoilsport - but this is just b******s.
CSS Naked Day
Well this thread will no doubt get listed in his "Places with lame comments" section.
CSS Naked Day
I did it.
CSS Naked Day
I don't think it's that bad an idea personally (the laughing smiley was for the idea's comic value).
Obviously the only people who would get involved in this are those who feel strongly about standards-based web design.
A quick look through the list shows them to be nearly all blogs, so it's something that the author has chosen to do personally with little likelihood of adverse commercial impact.
CSS Naked Day
Should have been April the First in my view [-(
CSS Naked Day
I realise it was aimed at personal sites rather than business sites - but still... I must be getting grumpier with old age. HEAVEN KNOWS what I'll be like by the time I get to Hugo's age!
It just strikes me that it's preaching to the converted - sort of pointless
I read somewhere that maybe people should have come up with a different "skin" for the day - or remove all the IE hacks for the day - now that would have been amusing!

Hmmm...that is some idea.

what I'll be like by the time I get to Hugo's age

Anyway I agree preaching to those that already understand these matters..pointless. Far better would have been to produce some really smart stylesheets using CSS properties to the max sans all hacks to accommodate IE, just for the day of course or better still just run a script on the get header that rejects any advances from IE politely telling the browser to "eff off this is a modern browser day only"
Still ultimately rather futile exercise methinks (wonder if that will get us in the "places with lame comments" section)
