Ok, firstly I posted here about a week ago to test out my new blog design. Well don't confuse the two posts because a week later, everything has changed.

Brand new css layout and blog re-design. Please check it out and suggest improvements any browser probs. Trying to keep it simple.

Thanks for viewing.....

OK
The good news is:
it looks the same in IE6, Firefox 1.5 (some build or other) and Opera 8.?.
the css validates

The bad new is:
the html validator is having some probs. It said,

Quote:
I got the following unexpected response when trying to retrieve <http://marteno.atspace.com/>:
500 Can't connect to marteno.atspace.com:80 (Bad hostname 'marteno.atspace.com')
If you made recent changes to your domain name (DNS) configuration, you may also want to check that your domain records are correct, or ask your hosting company to do so.

the site should come with a "foul language" warning
the site should come with a "be viewed by texters" recommendation
as this purports to be a personal blog why do you have this alt text behind your logo?
Quote:
<h1><img src="images/general/logo_enlighten.gif" alt="itau.com.au - Information Technology Associates Australia" border="0" height="90" width="308" /></h1>

What's all that about?

hmmmm - thanks for that.
ITAU (information technology associates australia) is my company name and that was a bit of cut and paste error. Thanks for spotting, have updated.

Profanity - in the interests of global communication i have edidted the expletives out, rather than give a language warning. Forgot about that.

And dns? well i should just moveit over to betyter hosing and buy a domain name i guess. Might do that to day. Don't know why the validator is having trouble. could it be in my header?

Thanks for spotting all this.

I don't know this is actually the case with your site, but I have heard elsewhere that some (freespace) servers can get a bit "sniffy" about gadgets like the validator - seeing it as an intruder, perhaps Crying

okay well. That hosting seemed to go down last nite anyway. So quick switchover of hosting, and a quick visit to www.BunkMedia.com.au in my lunch break, and a new domain name too.

The validator works now and no more lame subdomains.

Cheers,

Good chap - you know it makes sense Smile
The validator says, "Passed" - whoopee.
Love the new domain name Cool
Now I'm off to study a new language 'cos, as you so rightly say,

Quote:

All the best

I noted that I couldn't return to the index page from your photos page. You should make your banner an index link.

Looks good.
