I worked hard on this to get the layout right, then I open it in Netscape and it looks terrible. It looks exactly the way I want it to in IE. I can not figure out how to get this to work in different browsers. I know that it can be done, I have seen it.
Here is the relevant part of my css:
/* specific divs */ #container { padding: 0px 10px 1px 10px; margin: 0px; } #intro { min-width: 470px; } #pageHeader { margin-bottom: 10px; } #pageHeader h1 { font: italic normal 16pt georgia; width: 100%; letter-spacing: 1px; color: #7D775C; margin-top: 5px; } #pageHeader h1 span { width: 100%; font: normal 24pt georgia; letter-spacing: 1px; color: #7D775C; margin-left: 25%; } #pageHeader h2 { margin-top: 28px; margin-bottom: 10px; width: 300px; height: 18px; float: left; padding-left: 20px; color: #7D775C; } #pageHeader h2 span { font: italic normal 12pt georgia; letter-spacing: 1px; margin-bottom: 0px; color: #7D775C; } #quickSummary { clear:both; margin: 40px 0px 0px 40px; width: 100%; } #quickSummary p { font: italic 10pt/22pt georgia; text-align: center; } #adultShow { padding: 0px 10px 0px 20px; float: left; } #adultShow p { clear:both; margin: 40px 0px 0px 50px; width: 350px; text-align: left; } #strolling { padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; width: 350px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; text-align: left; } #strolling p{ font: italic normal 16pt georgia; margin-top: 35px; text-align: left; position: absolute; padding-left: 40px; width: 350px; color: #7D775C; } #strolling span{ float: none; } #supportingText { padding-left: 200px; margin-bottom: 40px; padding-right: 30px; width: 900px; } #footer { text-align: center; } #forHire { font: italic normal 14pt georgia; letter-spacing: 1px; margin: 50px 150px 0px 470px; color: #7D775C; width: 300px; text-align: justify; } #forHire p { font: italic normal 14pt georgia; letter-spacing: 1px; margin: 50px 150px 0px 0px; color: #7D775C; width: 400px; } #forHire2 { font: italic normal 14pt georgia; letter-spacing: 1px; margin: 50px 150px 0px 470px; color: #7D775C; width: 300px; text-align: justify; } #forHire2 p { font: italic normal 14pt georgia; letter-spacing: 1px; margin: 50px 150px 0px 0px; color: #7D775C; width: 400px; } #forHire3 { font: italic normal 14pt georgia; letter-spacing: 1px; margin: 50px 150px 0px 470px; color: #7D775C; width: 300px; text-align: justify; } #forHire3 p { font: italic normal 14pt georgia; letter-spacing: 1px; margin: 50px 150px 0px 0px; color: #7D775C; width: 400px; }
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. There must be something here or in the source for the page itself, but I have been banging my head against the wall all afternoon with this one.
I have never tried so extensive of a css before. I plan to redo all my sites this way once I get the bugs worked out.
Thanks
