Peter-Paul Koch has done some tests of IE7 css support. Read the blog, then view his preliminary results in this CSS contents and browser compatibility chart.

There seem to be a number of IE6 bugs that have not been fixed as of IE7b2. Bug Reports for Explorer 7 beta 2.

Happy reading,

gary

CSS support in IE7 beta

How can IE5, the worst browser on the planet. support :focus and display: inline-block whereas IE7 doesn't?

Thank God it supports fixed positioning.

CSS support in IE7 beta

tph: That's IE5.2/Mac. It has its own rendering engine, which is inately superior to IEx/Win's. I'm of the opinion MS would have done better to port that engine to Win and upgrade it for IE7. It had its troubles, but the core engine code was better thought out and would have been a more solid base to build on.

cheers,

gary

I thought I read somewhere else that IE7 was going to implement min and max values?

Gary that would have been asking MS to think intelligently and apply a little bit of lateral thinking.

Look do we care what a beta release is doing, suppose we should to some extent, but I already realise that this release is doomed to be a semi tragic effort , and until someone tells me that a: IE7 will be standalone and b that MS has taken steps to force everyone running any earlier version to upgrade I'll remain dispassionate about the dam thing Smile

Tyssen it was and has been talked about much, yes they said for awhile that width min/max was going to be supported now it seems that they are trying to make believe that all along they were also intending on height as well, the incorrect overflow implementation was dealt with and mentioned on their blogs a while ago, Chris posted on the fact that they are now muttering about min/max height all of a day ago , you want to read posts Wink Smile

If they sort out the height issue fully then many problems will be sorted, well apart from those people who will still be running IE6 10 years from now.
