Finally, today, I got my dear mum to switch from IE/Mac to Safari!
She's finally entered into the 21st century and is now "learning to do" OS X!
Oh, I'm so proud that I could just cry.
Rejoice with me!!!
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
Triumph - I feel your joy \:D/ Praise Be an' all that.
I finally got my mum to switch from a PC to a Mac by refusing to even attempt to help her with her daily 'IT Support' calls - "have you switched it off and on again?"
Now she only needs to call me about once a week and that's only because she's still using M$ Word
As your mum won't be needing the Firefox Developers' extension, maybe you can move her onto Camino next
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
My Mum & Dad have just bought a new G5 iMac. They're in Perth so I can't really pop around to check it out, but do new Macs automatically come with IE5/Mac installed?
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
And then Camino came out today.
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
Tyssen, no - new Macs no longer come with IE/Mac
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
They should be fine then.
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
=D>
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
Congratulations!
Maybe sometime in the next few years a certain close relative of mine will upgrade from MS ME to ... well frankly anything else - ME collapses in a fit if you look at it sideways.
Oh and also - maybe that same relative will occasionally update their AV software, stop downloading attachments in emails and stop asking me to fix the bug-ridden slow bastard every time I visit (on average 2 hours each time).
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
...so I'm not the only one that ends up trying to fix M$ [email protected] for friends and family in his non-work time then
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!

This is true - DON'T DO IT. I just tilted my head and looked at an ME install, the PC bluescreened on me.
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!
Not the only one I just love spending hours fixing up chronically old machines, apparently as I know something about puters it must just be the perfect way to spend all my free time :?
However I recently said no to supporting win 98 sick to death of it , made my dad buy a Mac
Of course I then went and got some nice work doing small network for someone only to find I have to deal with amongst other things an elderly Win ME laptop ME really was a nasty bit of work.
Hallelujah!!! Hallelujah!!!

Yeah exactly.
I've told them and I've told them *sigh*
The amount of money it costs them to keep getting it fixed would easily have bought a brand new pc with XP (they need windows).
