Hi, I've been playing with one of the pages on my website, I don't like the way it looks, as more people sign the guestbook, it'll become less obvious how to do so, so I've mocked up a test.

Test Page 1 (http://www.aqpj48.dsl.pipex.com/test/gbv1.html)
is how I think it should look, and test page 2 (linked from 1) is how it currently looks.

My question is, which is better from a UI design point of view? My concern is that the input form is too small...

(edit)... The second test page also has a small input field, but that's because I'm stupidly using the same CSS file for both, imagine that one as having larger fields Smile - one day I might get a clue Wink

Thanks for your time!
-Mal

P.S. ignore the stupid comments, they were taken straight from my guestbook database - some stupid people got in Smile

Which is nicer? Opinion please :)

Version 1 all the way, for sure. Even move the input form higher up the page (but keep it to the left as is). Wink

The next sentence is true. The previous sentence is false. Discuss...

Thanks, I'm glad you said that, because I like it better too!

I would move the form up, but the section above it is the nav bar for the site, so it's in the same place on all the other pages. It might look a bit strange if it moved on that page. I suppose it doesn't matter too much, but I'm sure I'll be trying a completely different layout again in a few days when I have another idea anyway Wink
