As for being validated, the hosting server sends out some code and fails my test every time, so has nothing to do with me. Check out the site, tell me what I can do to spice up some. I have some ideas, but this is the base design. Getting a nice new logo designed for it as well. Thanks for your time.

I think your header needs to be beefed up a bit - the title of the site's not prominent enough.
I think your text needs more contrast, especially the red links. Could do with either being a bit bigger too or have the letters spaced a bit more.
I think each page needs to look a bit more different too. At the moment every page is exactly the same except for the piece of text at the top. I don't feel that you should have We Want You and Questions on every page - well at least not the full text for those, maybe just links instead.
And a question about your service - you say DJs can't use MP3s, but how are you going to know if they are or not if they're broadcasting from their homes?
As for helping out, I may be interested cos I'm a DJ in my spare time (although it's taken a back seat to other stuff lately).

Ya some of what you said I believed myself, but I need the people to get more content. I'm not about to stick banner exchanges all over my page. As for the title, you mean the meta? I know the regular title of the site is pretty basic, but I'm getting someone working on graphics for that. The technicalities of mp3's and royalties is a whole nother deal in itself. I am more on the music side. The web design thing, I can fake it enough to get something up, even when I'm reworking someone else's work. Which is really what I did.

It might be just that I am getting old, or have not woken up yet, but I can't actually read much of the site. The red links are impossible to read without getting up close and personal with my screen and the rest of the text is still quite a struggle. There needs to be an increase in font size I would say and more contrast with fore and background colours.

Which leads to another point. As I could not read it, I tried to increase the text size, which alas did not work in firefox as you have given the pic box a specific height so the text flows over the "what we want" bit below. In IE it did not flow over anything - but alas the text did not resize at all, but rather just increased the line height due to your use of fixed font values for size, but relative value for lineheight.

So I would suggest you should use min-height to make things work in FF not height. Alas IE will ignore this as it only recognises height. So you'll need to feed height to IE.

Also your font-size declarations are in pt - which is a bit of a no no. pt are not the best unit to use and using a fixed value prevents IE users from increasing the text size. It's better to use em's of % and leave control in the hands of the person viewing the site.

ok I've changed the test to .em like you said and I see the difference. As far as the sections moving with the font, I'm still kind of not sure what you meant. On the scripting side. I understand what you were saying was wrong. Can you tell me what I should edit? margins? padding?

well now i see what you were saying with height. At least it is able to be altered in a more correct fashion. I set it to auto and works nice in FF. how will this work in IE and Netscape? To be honest I've never changed font style in either, so is it something the normal user is going to notice? The one thing is now IE crapped on my nav bar and spaced really large. Every other broswer is fine except IE. I know why people dont like explorer now, its complete rubbish.

Hmm it all look totally different now, did you revert to another style?

The height problem is due to IE and other browsers doing different things with the height value.

In non IE things it will take the height and make the box that high regardless of how much content you add. So if you set it to 200 px and put 500px worth of text inside it. The box will stay at 200 but the text will spill out underneath, hence you see the overlapping text. The correct property to use would be min-height, which will make the box 200 px high as a default, but will expand to surround it's content. So in the above example, it would be 500px and no overlapping would occur.

Alas for us IE ignored min-height, but treats hight in this way, ie it'll expand to surround it's content.

An oft used trick to get around this is to feed min-height to everything then just height to IE.

Thusly

#somediv
{
     min-height: 200px
}

* html #somediv
{
    height: 200px
}

Although with the looming presence of IE7 this might not be a good idea any more and conditional comments might be the way to go.

Nah I just completely reformatted the site. I took some people's advice, changed a few things. As for what you are proposing I do, I'm still not completely following. I will look it up more and try to figure out exactly the problem. I will try your advice as well.
