Too many "e"s in deevelopers.

You guys got a raw deal having to have ie on the end of your URLs.

You might want to tap the brakes a bit on the reflections. I found them becoming annoying one after another after another aft…
cheers,

i don't really get your menu system, the buttons keep moving around. I think it would look best if you kept all of the buttons in the same spot, just have the active one wider than the others
irishwebdevelopers.com
That's funny, the menu is what I like most about it. I especially like how the active links box is bigger to indicate what page your on.
I thought the reflections were a bit much too.
irishwebdevelopers.com
Hi
I think it's very smart looking.
I agree about too many reflections - I'd do away with the ones in the main content area.
On some of the pages the green background extends into the sidebar but on some of the pages it doesn't...
I like the navigation moving in and out on hover etc but on some pages the active item remains where it is in the list and on others the items are swapping position in the list - I'd keep the same order of list items throughout.
A minor point but I think it might look better if the footer was the same width as the main content area as there's nothing to "connect" it to the sidebar currently especially on a longer page - so the footer looks like it's just sticking out a bit.
Also I think it might look less crowded on your portfolio page if you make the screenshots a little smaller or more spread out - they're crowding each other a bit currently.
You need label tags on your form too.

I'm with HB on the reflections I'd loose all the ones in the main body copy.
So I thought you were going going to post a site check on the lk site you posted about; designed by madereality.com, are you now irshwebdevelopers then , all a bit confusing
Hugo.
thanks :)
Here's what I've got so far
- label tags on forms
- less reflections
- smaller images for portfolio
- same position for all menu items
Thanks guys great help.

What's your footer doing?
In both FF 1.5 and IE 7 it sits right in the middle of the page , it's about 70px short on the left and 130px on the right - it look rather disjointed to me.
I'd maybe add some padding to you presscontainer and maybe even a bit more in the main content area - the text is a bit squashed up to the sides
I'd be tempted to lose a few more of the reflection in the main content area though
That said, the site looks nice and clean, it's a good design. I quite like the navigation effects
oh yeah - your footer has "58" appearing before the links?

hi freddy,
thanks for the footer advise. im seeing it sitting along the bottom in IE6, but I had a feeling what I was doing wasn't correct.
I need the footer to sit at the bottom of the maincontent area, away from it slightly and the same length as it. If you look at my code you'll see that I haven't done this very elegantly. Any advise?
Ok will add some more padding.
The 58 was just a simple hit counter I put in yesterday. just testing it out, I'll remove it today.

footer
make it the same width as you header banner 756px
either place it inside your #sitecontainer or margin it to line up
that should do it
Freddy

I think I've done it

You got it - well done

Hello. I just passed by your Irish Web Developers site and here's what I think: contrary to some of the comments already made, 1) I think your navigation items look fun and I find no reason for you to change them; 2) the reflections also make your pages interesting but lightening them further will make them less intrusive; 3) I don't think the blue links work with the present color scheme, more so the dark blue hover states; and finally 4) you may want to pad your footer a little so the text don't touch the border.
Cheers!

hi,
thanks.
ive removed some of the reflections. i'll try to lighten the others.
what do you think i should do for the links?
i like your site
irishwebdevelopers.com
Making them red like the navigation links wouldn't hurt, I guess.
