i use a dhtml drop down menu on a website at http://ae.iscsp.utl.pt/ and in most IE versions that have Stop for all errors and Script debugging enabled the user faces an error message that prevents him from using the site properly.

i use the following java script code:

<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
  function montre(id) {
	  if (document.getElementById) {
		  document.getElementById(id).style.display="block";
		} else if (document.all) {
		  document.all[id].style.display="block";
		} else if (document.layers) {
		  document.layers[id].display="block";
		} }

 function cache(id) {
	  if (document.getElementById) {
		  document.getElementById(id).style.display="none";
		} else if (document.all) {
		  document.all[id].style.display="none";
		} else if (document.layers) {
		  document.layers[id].display="none";
		} }

function correctit(){ return true } window.onerror=correctit //--> </script>
in theory, that last line should prevent the dialog from popping up, but i had reports of the problem showing up after i added that last line. although it works in my up to date version of IE.

Before i implemented the dhtml menu, i checked to see if my users had javascript enabled, and more than 90% did according to the stats. I'd appreciate any pointers on this issue.

getting rid of the &quot;parse error&quot; menu in IE

Hi QuietStorm,
I can't see anything here that would be causing problems.
No errors are showing up on the page.
Have you sorted it out?

getting rid of the &quot;parse error&quot; menu in IE

i thought i had with that piece of javascript i posted. But some random people have mentioned the error showing up again. I was just trying to find someone who had faced the same kind of problem when dealing with dhtml drop down menus.

i tested the site in all browsers i could think of, and worked smooth on all, even without the java script code to clear out the dialog box. IE was my only pain.
