Am I right to assume that the reason why I'm getting a brief glimpse of my css code before I build the page is because it has a lot of images to load?
I didn't actually think my page did contain many large images which would cause a problem, however it's the only thing I can think of that might be causing it.

The browser shouldn't display the actual CSS code.

Sorry, I mean the html page before the CSS has been applied.

Google "FOUC" that should help.

Yep - by the sounds of it, sounds exactly like the fouc bug.

Might be the FOUC bug!

I'll put my hands up for FOUC as well, perhaps, maybe, all hidden issues considered, in the overall scheme of things

However, I think it's a FOUC bug.
(Right, enough of this foolishness )

Foolishness nah I'm all for ensuring that things are clear!
As I'm often heard to remark; FOUC me.

nah - that tee-shirt you wear actually says F C U K

No I've got the "F C U K me (please)" one, don't seem to work though

That's because you are also wearing that other designer's ultra-pongy after-shave you got for Christmas. Us gels can't cope with toooooo much of a good thing, at least not when our eyes are watering. 8-[

Lorraine now you tell me , I had just gone and bought the shower gel and body lotion as I didn't think I was making enough impact, it certainly explains why I had thought it very misty weather lately, I was seeing through the haze of a cacophony of fragrances wafting off me and why people seemed to crowd up to one end of the cafe all the time.

I feel an experiment coming on. Where's Chris..S? He could probably code this to save you the trouble.
You need to tie your virtual aura to your visual impact in order to balance the overall look and feel.
Try:
EITHER tee-shirt with plain vanilla soap and water as in "less is more";
OR (and this would be my personal recommendation) a delicate touch of fragrance forming an invisible layer absolutely positioned behind the ears (but only in those head-er areas else it could lead to trouble later). Couple this with a generic sans-tee-shirt font. These techniques will provide clear evidence of your attempt to adhere to modern standards, your usability and accessibility and it will greatly assist the search sirens who are looking for a games-boy.
No TPH, I don't mean that type of games-boy.

Nice to see you still making an effort at your age!

Nice to see you still making an effort at your age!

I really think that it's important to make an effort even when one does reach that milestone that is their mid thirties
