You most likely would be in breach of the T&Cs of the host, which probably means they could shut you down and kick you off any time. The ads is how they are able to provide you with the space at no charge.

Laughing out loud they place their sister company's ad (i guess). a single ad, all the time and a toolbar with several links.

twinklerip, there are loads of cheap hosting packages out there that would mean you wouldn't encounter the problems with these ads. Maybe that's what you need to be looking for?

You gets what you pays for. I would suggest NOT violating their TOS that you signed when you applied to use their free hosting. You may be held liable.

as T says you get what you pay for. if you want it for free you're going to have to put up with the ads. at the end of the day there's no such thing as a free lunch. and these free packages have to get their money somehow...

Apologies chaps I think that twinklerip has got the message and is not really arguing the toss here, so it isn't really a case for locking of topic, lets also remember that our host does not favour locking threads unless absolutely necessary.

So forgive me but topic unlocked.

I originally put it there just as a sort of "deterrant" to stop any more replies, and to see if anyone agreed it shoudl be locked. But you didn't Laughing out loud

No idea who locked it though.
