This works fine for me on my work PC - I get a list of all the threads posted in since I last restarted my browser.
But at home, it's a different story.
When I start my browser, I get a list of the unread threads, but as soon as I post in one and return to the list, only the thread I last posted in is there. Everything else has been marked as read.
But it's also just a recent thing so I'm thinking it might have something to do with reinstalling Windows recently and a setting being different from before.
So anyone have any idea what it might be?

Interesting, I get the same thing to a lesser degree and put it down to buginess in PHPBB rather than my system, but why your work pc demonstrates no similar problems is odd.

To my thinking PHPBB does have a tendency to buginess when needing to work out things like posts read etc during a session.

I'm reviving this topic because it seems the forum has been getting a lot worse for this problem of late and now it's started happening on my work PC too.
Viewing 'posts since last visit' I might have two pages worth of links, but as soon as I reply to one, the only link on the page is the thread to which I've just replied.
Sometimes I'll view the 'view your posts' page first and read through the replies to see if there's any I need to follow up and without even replying to any, when I go to the 'last visit' page next, it'll have no posts there, ie, they've all suddenly been marked as read.
And another thing that happens to me sometimes is returning to 'last visit' will suddenly log me out and return me to the login page. :?
Is anyone else getting similar behaviour?

I often have the entire board reset itself in this respect. Sometimes when I start afresh for the day; other times midway through a session. It's been like this for ages and I also just put it down to phpBB buginess (if there is such a word). FF_Mac.

Life's a b*tch and then you die!

Not so bad for me, as I don't use "new since your last visit" - I just open every topic with an orange box individually, through each sub-forum.

However, say there are10 topics in Beginner's with orange squares.

I work from the bottom upwards. If I click on the bottom newest, read it and reply, then return to the forum, the topic gets bumped to the top but instead of having 9 new topics, it now only does 8.

Every time I reply, it makrs the next-lowest orange topic as read. :?

Don't you need to keep the same browser window open for it to work?

If I restart Firefox, all the topics are read. If I use the same browser instance all day (crashes permitting), it seems to work "ok" - still the odd topics are marked as read when I haven't been near them.

Another oddity with phpbb in general - if you have the forum bookmarked on your bookmarks toolbar folder, then click it then press "esc" to stop it loading, then mess around eg click it twice, hit escape, and so on, then navigate away from the page, then click it again, it will mark everythign as read.

But yes, you need to keep the same browser window open. Frequently I've opened a forum, got a load of new topics to read, then Fox has crashed, I open the forum again, and they're all marked as read. Dang annoying Evil

That's what I do.
EDIT: replying to this post did it again. I replied to one before this, returned to 'last visited' and there were 9-10 posts on the page. Replying to this one and afterwards, this was the only thread on the page.
