I'm getting a really strange padding effect on my website and cannot figure out what is causing it for the life of me.

The red bar with the breadcrumb, as well as the image to the right of it, seems to get a strange padding effect around it, preventing it from being sandwiched in between the graphical header and the navbar/content. To see what it should look like (does not work with MAC IE...thus the redo):

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Strange DIV Problem

Couple of things

1) put display: inline; in any class or id that has a float - solves many problems with IE as per -
http://www.positioniseverything.net/guests/floatIndent.html

2) I think the problem is that you have not cleared the first line of floated divs (contentheader). In fact why is contentheader floated at all - it has a set width matching the whole width of the page so it can not be fluid. Get rid of float: left and that may fix it.

I have seen floats above affect the left hand sid. see the 1px gap on left for second line of floats.

Strange DIV Problem

Thanks for the tips, still no go though I'm afriad.

It does appear the 1px space on the left of the second row (breadcrumb bar) is gone, so it did something.

I'm kind of new to CSS and this just has be baffled.
