We've finally got our site up and running in both IE and FireFox, and we'd like some comments. We're specifically looking for anyone viewing this on a Mac or on older versions of IE.
The site is valid XHTML Strict and CSS.
Browsers tested: FireFox 1.5, IE 6, Opera 8.02 and Netscape 8.0.4.
Things we still need to do:
-Style <a> tags
-Add a bunch more content
-Tweak the menu in the upper right (spacing, background images, etc)
Here's the link. All of the links should be active. We're just finishing up the rest of the content and style, then the main page will be renamed to index.asp.[/url]

I thought you'd been round long enough to know that
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
is throwing IE into Quirks Mode.
You're right, your links need a lot of styling.
Maybe some nice bullets on the links in the top right?
Need checks please
Actually, throwing IE into Quirks was intentional. I used a slight variation on the layout here on Stu Nicholls' site. In order to get the box to display right in IE, you have to go to Quirks mode. But, we're still using valid code and CSS (except for one small IE only css bit, but that's ignored, as it's inside MS conditional tags).
We're mainly looking right now to make sure the site itself doesn't break horribly on other browsers. Styling will be simple enough, and I'll definitely post the finished product here in the next week or so.

The pages appear to load correctly on my Mac in FF1.5 and Safari.

I think your text is too dark against the purple background. Also your Eternal Second graphic looks quite strange - the top half looks like it's got extra fuzz around it.
Checks out OK in IE5.01.

Thanks for the checks. We'll definitely want to be looking into the contrast issue along with the fuzzy logo. One of the things we're shooting for is 508 and AAA (we comply with 508 now, but that's without adding any content like forms and whatnot... we'll see). I'll update this thread once the site is finished and see what other things we didn't notice at that point.

My sentiments also.

It looks the same in Opera 8.5 (for Mac) as in Safari.
One thing that strikes me, is having to use the mouse to scroll the content on the Portfolio page. I don't like it.
I use a laptop and I prefer a site to be navigable by keyboard shortcuts.

I use a PC and find that once I have tabbed into the contents section of the portfolio page (i.e. get the focus on the "visit" text under the first image), I can use the up/down scroll arrows on the keyboard to move through the portfolio visually.
I would be very interested (accessibility-wise) to know whether that can or cannot be done on a Mac which I assume you are using. Please let me know - many thanks.
edit: sorry to break in here muzishun, but it does kinda relate to your site. Oh and ditto the others about the background/foreground colours

- Looks like a no-go in FF/Mac and Safari.
- The page is completely broken in IE/Mac.
- Netscape/Mac won't scroll with mouse wheel or keys.
- Opera/Mac scrolls with wheel and up/down keys.
- Omniweb won't scroll with mouse wheel or keys.
- Shiira won't scroll with mouse wheel or keys.
- Camino will scroll with keys after you select some text (?).

Thanks for going to all that trouble, Triumph. Very much appreciated.
I thought I'd better putter around some other PC browsers.
Opera - generally OK with both techniques.
Netscape - no go, but I have an older version.
Firefox - Now I seem to remember  does not seem to recognise the scroll-wheel or keys at all. I haven't upgraded to 1.5 yet - so who knows
Ah well, it's only really Opera and IE/PC then.
Edit: I have asked Santa for another Mac 'cos my first one was also a no-go.

Well, Fx 1.5 fixed the scrolling bug, so hopefully, that won't end up being as much of an issue.
Thanks for all the comments. There's definitely more browser differences than I expected! I'm not sure how much we'll worry about some of the more obscure browsers, but I'll see if there's anything we can do to get some more functionality on the more common ones. It looks like most of the issues are on Mac browsers. Oh, if I only had a Mac.

fixed
There. I've fixed the contrast problems. I've also set a temporary fix for the links at the top.

There's actually two of us. I'm Bill, that's Nick (points at moshner). He's the more graphically oriented, but I started here a bit before him.
screen name
muzishun is a different person, he is the coder. I'm the graphic person.
*edit* and i obviously didn't notice a second page. oops.
