Hello,

I have a problem trying to apply a style to my navigation list elements.

I have defined the general <ul> list tag to be black with a disk bullet as
follows:

ul {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: x-small;
margin-right: 50px;
margin-left: 50px;
vertical-align: middle;
text-align: left;
list-style-type: disc;
}

I have also defined the general link styles to be black with a permanent
underline as can be seen in the content area.

However, I am trying to make the left navigation links not have a bullet and
the links to be white with an underline hover. I simply cannot get this to
work. I have applied an ID style on the left navigation as shown below. I
simply cannot get these styes to take affect.

Please help.

Vince

.verticalnav1 {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
vertical-align: top;
background-color: #00528C;
padding: 0px;
margin: 0px;
width: 100%;
}
.verticalnav1 ul {
padding: 0px;
list-style-type: none;
text-align: center;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
margin-top: 16px;
margin-bottom: 16px;
vertical-align: top;
list-style-image: none;
margin-left: 40px;
margin-right: 0px;
color: #FFFFFF;
}
.verticalnav1 ul li {
margin: 5px 10px 10px;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
text-align: left;
white-space: nowrap;
color: #FFFFFF;
}
.verticalnav1 ul li a:link {
text-decoration: none;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: x-small;
color: #FFFFFF;
white-space: nowrap;
}
.verticalnav1 ul li a:visited {
text-decoration: none;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: x-small;
color: #FFFFFF;
white-space: nowrap;
}
.verticalnav1 ul li a:hover {

Cannot get style to overide the general styles.

It's ok folks, it was my silly mistake.

Should have used "class" and not "id".

thanks
