He started college this year. Didn't need much help from me. Today he went to our little place in the country to prep for weekend hunting...by himself. He didn't ask if I wanted to go. I wouldn't anyway because I don't hunt and his uncle and a friend were coming tomorrow. He said that with living at home with his brother and us he just needed some time by himself. He's been needing more time by himself lately.

The little boy who held my hand is all grown up and I've been crying for the last half hour.

My little boy is all grown up

Dr., I can't say I know the feeling because I do not have kids. However, as I remember moving out and "growing up" . . . there was nothing better than being independent and that first taste of freedom. However, it did not take long before I started hearing the the words of my father coming out of my mouth. At first it scared the crap out of me, would end up being like my old man? Eventually, I have grown to respect and understand the wisdom of my old man more and more as I get older, and yes, become more like him. Smile

Congratulations . . . .

This is my big chance . . . yep, I blew it . . .

My little boy is all grown up

It's a strong bond, isn't it? Smile

My son is only 8 years old so I have a few more years. I'll make the best of them. Laughing out loud

My son is ten and he still likes his cuddles every day. Any day soon that is going to stop and I'll be so sad when it happens Crying

My little boy is all grown up

I understand.

My 19 yo son is moving 1500 miles away to "get on with my life". Sad
The longest he's been away from home is a one week visit with a
family friend for a fishing trip.
