Hi there, I'm trying out this technique for drop shadows: http://www.sixapart.com/pronet/articles/ydsf_robust_c.html

It looks pretty simple, but it's giving me some problems. You'll have to scroll down to see where it's happening. I've tried customizing a few things, but I keep having no luck. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with it, or could at least spot anything obvious.

I'm trying it out on this page: http://crapfilter.net/tester.html

My CSS (these classes are at the very bottom): http://crapfilter.net/wp-content/themes/crapfilter/style.css

Thanks!

trying a drop shadow technique, can you help?

Hi

I don't know about drop shadows (couldn't see any) but the background flickering when scrolling is really annoying.

Is your problem the breaking of the drop shadow where the background image loops?

Well I made some modifications and now it seems to be working ... sort of. I made the div with the shadow only 800 px wide, and then wrapped another one around that, and made the margin:auto. it seems to be working. I guess I'm going to have to create a bigger background image to prevent that from happenning.

Now, on different browsers, I seem to be getting different degrees of shadows. It seems to stick out farther on the bottom on some. Maybe somebody can help me with the CSS to get it a little more consistent.

Love your site very funny. bookmarked it to read tomorrow. I love satire.

OH the shadow thing! have a look at the code for a site I just did. http://www.harmacy.co.uk

I pulled of a decent background shadow job. Take any code/ideas you want. Might help you or might not.

Nice lookin' page. Laughing out loud

Is the shadow suppose to have several breaks in it as you scroll down? I get this effect in FF/Mac and Safari.
