it seems as it would be more useful to leave the "FF Must Have's" as a non-sticky, so ya don't have to mod the title. then, when you find a new one, peeps will see it, dig?
i understand your reasoning, of course. same reason for any sticky-- this just seems a non-sticky type joint in my opinion. i always have 2 cents in my pocket, yo.
[humor of course]

Nah, its a sticky.
If the main post is edited, remove the last bump post and add a new bump post to change it from read to unread.

Were you addressing TPH then Jeff?
Sort of felt as though it was missing an opening post from TPH really most odd :?
I think Chris was probably addressing your remarks though.
sticky pineapple fingers
well, it's obvious that it's TPH's thread, so hence the vague reference. i tried to leave it open for commentary, as chris interpreted, and provided that which i hoped would happen.
if chris was addressing me, then i don't get it-- if i want to see a "new" post, why should i be urged to mark it "unread"? or are [chris] was saying that once i read it, i should mark it unread in preparation for the next update?
in case it's not clear, this is all in an effort to keep track of TPH's updates in a passive manner. does that make sense? otherwise, it seems as though i could just monitor the mozilla new extensions w/out the guidance of someone as knowledgeable as TPH
he has provided no short list. it's a lot to digest. easier to track amendments, i'd think, if a "new topics" approach were adopted.
sticky pineapple fingers
Sorry Jeff, what on earth was obvious?
If you want to keep track just have a read from time to time.

I think that is what most of us probably tend to do, hey FF even does it for you through an RSS feed in bookmarks; not knocking TPH's much vaunted knowledge, but sometimes it's quicker to do oneself.
This should really have been placed in site discussion.
Hugo.
sticky pineapple fingers
ah ha! yes, site discussion. it's fine w/ me if you move it. as i stated in my edit above, that it's a lot to read. i've provided a possible solution which might make it easier to track addendums-- i sense that you are annoyed at this suggestion for some reason?
obvious= "FF Must haves" = TPH's thread. did you have any trouble figuring that out? it seems obvious to you, no?
sticky pineapple fingers
Hmm, now I'm getting peeved
Chris was quite obviously not referring to you personally but to an abstract method of ensuring that a post that was sticky could be forced when just edited to reflect on the new posts list, clearly as this is TPH's sticky it would probably fall to him to perform this.
As I think I mentioned it's just as simple to enable the rss feed on new extensions and then visit to read the authors remarks and see if it's worth having.

Now now ladies, let's keep it civil
My post was merely meant to be a reference to us webbies, to keep you informed of the bext extensions available to aid in web-design work, as well as some of the more well-known and more helpful extensions (adblock and greasemonkey, for example).
It is not supposed to be a complete list of the best, or frequently updated extensions. For that, I suggest (as has been said before) either the Mozilla RSS feed (use the Sage RSS aggregator ) or my favourite website, TEM.

haha. glad someone could see through the nonsene which somehow caused this to becaome a divergent thread!
thanks, TPH.
