I was supposed to do a web page for a local business but they never singed off on the contract. In the mean time, as an exercise, I went ahead and made the layout. They obviously don't want me to do it so I am going to use the layout on my own personal site because I really like how it turned out.

Let me know what you think: http://www.imaginekitty.com/

Redesign of sorts.

"Man Made World" nice . . . not sure what "威服" means. :twisted:

I think the content background could be a little lighter.

This is my big chance . . . yep, I blew it . . .

It was supposed to mean "awesome". I was trying to write "Awesome Robots" (it's a long story involving Tony Iommi and crew Laughing out loud). I was using an online translator. Makes me wonder about all those kanji tatoos I see on the kids. They probably mostly say "wilted lettuce" or "I just wet myself". :oops: Laughing out loud

What is the literal translation of "威服". I may have got it wrong. Laughing out loud

The first word is power, the second has many meanings, like cloths, and also obey. But the words together are confusing . . . .

膜拜=prostrates oneself
伟大的=great, awesome
机器人=machine people / robot

"膜拜伟大的机器人" all together = hail the awesome robot*

*it is abstract and can be interpreted differently, not a very common Chinese saying. Laughing out loud

This is my big chance . . . yep, I blew it . . .

Is "ˆÌ‘å“IŠ÷Šíl" ok? I mean, with awesome robots, hailing should be assumed. Laughing out loud

I'll have to change it later this afternoon and I thank you for your assistance on a totally off topic subject. Wink

I hope you don't get a million requests for this in the future.

Removing the first part changes the context and meaning. If you want awesome robots, try this.

Literal meaning for awesome:

令=make
人=people
敬=respect
畏=fear
的=of
机器人=machine people / robots

令人敬畏的机器人=awesome robots

If you want something shorter you can use the previous:

伟大的=great, awesome (awesome is more like 'cool' in this context)
机器人=machine people / robots

伟大的机器人=great robots Laughing out loud

This is my big chance . . . yep, I blew it . . .

Thanks for the lessons. Strangely, I couldn't get the "°¶" character to render in photoshop but the rest typed in quite nicely. I used the longer version anyway. Perfect. Now show me how to pronounce it Laughing out loud Shock Shock Shock Shock Laughing out loud

Good graphics work you have there! Very nice. But I think the green at the top is a bit off with the darker greens and the greys.

Great work with the wrap-around on the pistol. Cheers! Laughing out loud
