Hi

Try this in IE6 ... (make sure you have no important windows open at the same time, as a three fingered salute at IE will be necessary, but it won't crash your system)

Read a post and make a reply. Whilst waiting for the screen to show you the post at the bottom of the thread, close IE using the top right X. If you time it right, you get a mssive number of windows opening with the post/thread in. IE clags out after about 20 windows.

It seems to be something to do with the javascript used to refresh the page, Tony, over to you!

Wow, make IE go Multiple Windowed fast

Haha, actually, this is my first reply using IE 6 on this forum.

I'll try your suggestion Trevor. Before I undergo this, I want to mention, I am not sober. Why would I be using IE 6 for anything? And why would I be doing something with IE 6 to have it open a boat load of windows? Laughing out loud Adrenalin

edit: I must not have timed it right, so long IE 6.

This is my big chance . . . yep, I blew it . . .

Wow, make IE go Multiple Windowed fast

Hi

Sometimes I am using my work computer (no FF).

When you post, the screen gives you a wait for a few seconds or click this link message. Then it blanks and gives you the thread again but with your post.

Javascript has to be enabled.

As it blanks, that's when to close it!

I have XP set to give me buttons on the toolbar for each instance open (rather than the stupid default of showing you how many windows are open one one button). I get about three pages of IE windows before it clags out of system memory.

Wow, make IE go Multiple Windowed fast

Hi ClevaTreva,
Are the windows that open small?
Dose the same thing happen on other phpBB forums?

Although it an interesting affect, I think we can assume it is uncommon to come across this in normal use.
I am on a linux box so don't have easy access to IE and can't really justify looking at this while at work.

Wow, make IE go Multiple Windowed fast

Hi Tony

All windows attempt to open the thread, and are normal sized.

No, it doesn't happen on other phpBB forums I use.

Wow, make IE go Multiple Windowed fast

Hi

Further testing reveals that it happens if you click the close X at top right WHEN the page starts reloading (i.e. the content starts to appear).
