I'm working on a flash site. I want the Flash file to always be centered horizontally and vertically in the browser. I have an gif that is going to be above and below the Flash file. How can I have one image always be anchored at the top and one always anchored at the bottom and be fluid when the browser is resized? So far I can get the image at the top to work and repeat horizontally but I'm having trouble with the flash and the bottom image. Here is what I have so far: http://immeldesign.com/help/help.html. Thanks!

anchor images at top and bottom

I put your code through the validator and it came up with 13 errors. It looks to me that you have written the code in XHTML, but have the wrong Doctype.

If you are going the route of XHTML, your Flash will not show because XHTML does not support the <embed> element, therefore your page will not validate. This article on Alistapart will show you how to fix that.

This article and the proper Doctype will probably take care of the Flash issue.

As far as the bottom image...you have it set as a background image for the #end div, but there is no height defined and there is no content in the div, so I am guessing that is why it is not showing. If you define the height in the #end div, you should see the background. Smile

The flash is supposed to look like that. I haven't finished the flash part so I just put a grey square in my flash document.

As far as the CSS goes, I put in the height in that last div. It seems to be working except the graphic doesn't seem to go all the way to the end of the browser on the left and the right. I have the padding and the margin set to 0. How would I make the graphic move all the way the browser? Thanks!

html, body {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;

What would I have to change to make that bottom graphic move all the way to the bottom of the browser and stick to it when you resize it vertically?

Check out this thread about footers which is found in the 'How to' section. It will answer your question. Wink
