The site is http://www.cabs.co.za/
The site seems to load with the image and car adverts in the wrong place, BUT if I load the page and then press the "go" button on IE, it loads properly. Almost as if the problem is that the images etc are loaded before the stylesheet, and after the sheet is in memory it loads fine.
If there is such a problem as this, how can you pre-load the css file, so that it displays properly? (if that is in fact the problem)
Once I have the first page loaded it works fine all the time, just the first time I go there, it seems to "break", but works fine when I press the go button to reload the page. If I Crtrl-F5, it loads up wrong again.
Please can someone help me?!?!
Thanks so much

(if the problem is the stylesheet and loading etc, then maybe it will look fine for those of you with decent connections, but for me with a 56k it breaks)

Thanks again guys, looking forward to your replies.

Cheers

Plz can u help me with this prob. not sure what it could be

For me the page loads correctly, and then the images all move to the right after loading.

I had a quick look but it was hard to decipher. Especially all the LI tags with images in them , and I could not see how you were then placing the images to the left.

Anyway - What I suggest is you test each section as you go, removing some CSS here and there till you see what possibly is causing the problem.

Hi

Loaded fine for me first time. No probs. But I had just cleaned my IE cache and cookies out.

Design looks great.

Moved the css for .advert and .carads

I moved the .advert and .carads css info closer to the top of the css file, thinking that maybe it would load and position those first, and that would maybe fix the problem.

Here is the css for them:

.advert {
width: 153px;
border-left-width: 1px;
border-left-style: dashed;
border-left-color: #999999;
padding-left: 5px;
font-size: 0.8em;
color: #666666;
position: relative;
float: right;
display: block;
font-weight: bold;
margin-top: 10px;
}
.carads {
float: right;
margin-top: 10px;
display: block;
width: 580px;
position: absolute;
left: 0px;
margin-left: 8px;
}

I am reletavely new to css and this is the nicest looking site I have made with it so far, and I really want it to work well for everyone.

Is my css correct? Its also difficult to correct as everything in the html files has the path http://www.cabs.co.za/ in front of it, the images, the css file, everyting. This is so that if the user emails the page, it will display properly in their email program.

Thanks for the help so far, I will try change things one at a time and see what makes a difference.
