Can somebody take a look here for me please: http://crapfilter.net/blog/

Everything was fine, but I realized that I was was having issues with my sidebar. Before I made changes, if there was very little content, the sidebar parts would fall below the main content area. That made sense. So I cleared the floats on the sidebar parts, then IE had a heart attack.

Can you take a look and let me know if you spot any obvious red flags? Maybe I could do something slightly different in the sidebar. I'm certainly open to suggestions.

Thanks!

Problems with IE...clearing floats I think

Hi

This looks nice in FF.

Did it look OK in IE before the clears were added?

If so (and I have had this problem myself) you might use my solution:

.clear{
  clear:both;
  height:1px;
  overflow:hidden;
  line-height:1%;
  font-size:0px;
}
* html .clear{height:auto}

Might work.

Problems with IE...clearing floats I think

Everything was fine in IE before this, the last time I checked, but that was a day or two ago. I don't have Windows at home, so I'm only able to check it in IE when I'm at work, so I don't get the chance to do a lot of trial and error with IE.

Problems with IE...clearing floats I think

change
#extra

and

#adbarhigh

to float right not left.

Worked for me in testing.

Thanks, that fixed it. Laughing out loud

Now I have to figure out why the rounded bottom right corner inside #sidebar is disappearing partially.

it's doubling for me at the bottom.

I think it may be your ul causing more padding definition but not sure.

add

ul li {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}

and see if it goes away.

I do not have the corner image you are testing with, or I would test, but if it does not work then you know you can delete it easy enough.

Problems with IE...clearing floats I think

It was simpler than I thought it would be. I just had to add margin-bottom: 0; to #sidebar .gutter, etc.

While we're at it, how about the footer? IE is sticking on what looks like either too much margin or padding on the h6 or too much padding at the top. Any clues?

Sorry for the late reply! I hope to have things up and running by the end of the month. First piece is already up, you can find it at http://www.crapfilter.net.

The design hasn't evolved much in the last two weeks because I've been working with all the Wordpress stuff in the background, but It's getting close to being totally functional.

Thanks for the feedback!
