http://jimmygoon.com/site/?css=helpme

can someone please help me move the 3 little links at the top right side up on the bar where it belongs.

It should all be in that top bar... but its not.

---

I wouldn't recommend even looking at it in IE as I'm sure its a mess

---

also... if someone could advise me on how to put the "liveseach" in the bottom left hand corner on the same line as the text .... float it to the right... and then have the copyright info aligned in the center...?

thanks.

Perfectly validated CSS isn't much good if the HTML that it's tied to is full of errors though.

That one's bad sure, but that's obviously a p*sstake. This one has multiple vertical and horizontal marquees. :?

First of all, just using the tag is, by definition, abuse. Laughing out loud

Blinking or moving content is distracting. It affects everyone negatively, who're trying to concentrate on something else. That's bad.

People with cognitive disorders and some folks who've had a stroke have difficulty maintaining their place while reading due to movement or blinking. That's worse.

Asynchronous movement or blinking can trigger epileptic like seizures in people subject to them. That's very bad.

You may be breaking the disabilities acts of your country. That may be bad depending on whether you enjoy paying lawyers, fines, and judgements.

cheers,

gary

If your web page is as clever as you can make it, it's probably too clever for you to debug or maintain.

are you telling me that everyone who uses a marquee tag is suseptable to a law suit?

OKAY SO... besides the AWFUL marquee tag... does any one know how to properly float my items? thanks

edit: also any suggestions about how to replace the marquee will be taken into consideration depending on what my users want/think

Move the scroll-options ahead of the marquee in source order.

It's not likely you'll be sued[1], but it is an accessibility issue, and some hardassed PC type just might decide to use you toward his own ends. Besides, it's ugly and you could just as well put the headlines in a box in the side column.

Out of curiosity, how many of your visitors are coming to your site to get their daily ration of CNN headlines? Wouldn't it be more in line with your blogging to discuss an issue and include a link in your article? Seeing the unrelated CNN stuff makes me think you're running Jimmy's auto salvage and wedding planning salon.

cheers,

gary
