Click here to see the problem

I've narrowed down the problem to background images. This is literally all I have in my stylesheet:

@charset "UTF-8";
body {
	background-image: url(../images/fauxColumn.png);
	color: #FFFFFF;
	font-size: 36px;
}

No issues rendering in Firefox on a PC or any other browser...

could it be some issue to do

could it be some issue to do with color profiles? are you trying to repeat a teeny image many many times and draining your machines resources e.g repeating a really tiny image 1px x 10px in the belief it saves on file size is a fallacy as the image contains a heap of color bit info that has to be loaded again and again? Other than that difficult to help really.
