Hi,

I have posted this on the Google help forums (as my website is a blogger based site) and sought the answer myself but have not found one.

I am trying to make it so the margins on the top and the bottom of my site are equal:

I have tried adjusting the margins in the outer wrapper a number of different ways but none seem to work.

I can get it to look perfect in one browser, resolution but of course it changes.

Is there a way to always have the top and bottom margins equally spaced? margin-top: = margin-bottom margin-bottom: = margin top
so that no matter who is viewing it it is centered from top to bottom? I suppose the size of the margins would always be changing. I tried % but could not get that to work.

thanks for any help.

I won't get into why the idea stinks and just give you a link: http://gtwebdev.com/workshop/vcenter/

Make sure to read the footnote in the link.

So it is a bad idea because for IE7 and older browsers?

as far as the footnote, I know it is not print but the aesthetics of what you see when you get there is important to me as though it were print. If there is a way to make it work/balanced no matter what the viewport i do not see why it is a bad idea.(other than <=ie7)and i would like to figure out how to do so in my code.

thanks for the link.

What browsers are you looking

What browsers are you looking on? I looked at the site in IE 8 and Firefox 3.16 and it looks ok. What are you seeing when you are looking at it?

I look with chrome, FF, IE and it looks ok but the margin at the bottom is larger than that at the top
