http://www.tegulatile.net

This is the first site that I have done for a client. I have learned a great deal from all of you and would like your opinion and any suggestions you might have.

Thanks in advance,

Dawn

User friendly ~ yay! A few adjustments and it'll be fantastic.

Hi Dawn,

The site is very user friendly, which I think is the most important thing... it's easy to navigate around, easy to read, and everything is well spaced out. You kept it nice and simple. A visitor to the site would have an easy time finding what they're looking for. It's clean and tidy - good job for your first client site.

The only things that I would consider adjusting, in my own opinion, are as follows:

  • Consider making the tiled background that appears on both sides something simpler and easier on the eyes. I know you're using samples of the client's tiles, but I'd leave that for the gallery section. I find them to be distracting, and I'm not fond of the way they change on different pages. Best to leave the gallery to do the job of showing different samples. Use a background that's quiet, with a very small pattern, or a solid colour. Again, it should be quiet and not draw your eye away from the main content.
  • Any chance you could work on the top logo area a bit? It's a little on the large and loud side, using bright electric colours, in a massive scale. It has a nice design to it (the E is funky, a nice modern touch) but I think the size and colour could be toned down a little bit.

Those are the main things that I would consider adjusting, which would make it look a bit more professional. Great work though!

Jenn

Site check please

Thanks for the comments Jenn,

The client wanted the tiles on the background... I will see if I can make them a bit smaller and less "in your face" and also suggest going with just one tile or a solid background... same with the logo... his colors... but I can make the logo itself a bit smaller.

Thanks again,

Dawn

Hi g.m.b.s, the site is nice

Hi g.m.b.s, the site is nice and clean. I would maybe suggest creating a more colorful menu, changing the colors and maybe the font of the logo. Other than that the logo is nice and creative.

You oculd also have some more pictures of tiles on the gallery. For some inspiration, you may also check out these links:
