Ok...I made my first post here earlier and it was removed....I guess they don't want us to provide a background of what we are doing in order to provide the readers with as much info as possible...seems to me that that would be the only way for anyone to really be able to help.

The band I am in currently has a free Angelfire website and we are looking to either add a shopping cart to it or just start from scratch with a shopping cart solution. The thing is that we need to be able to edit the CSS files and we are looking for a one page checkout. The main thing is that it needs to be free as we have no budget for a monthly fee. Tony...OSCommerce wont work for b/c tfor one it is free to use but I would need to find a place to host the site which would cost $$. Secondly they dont offer a single page checkout and thirdly, it is too difficult for me (not being a programmer) to use.

I found a solution called Webplus Shop which seems to meet all of our requirements. Has anyone heard of them or are there any other free solutions that you can recommend we check out before proceeding?

Thanks

I removed the original post,

I removed the original post, then put it back as mentioned in the email and have now removed it again because you posted this one. Angry
None of the shopping carts I have ever worked with have been easy.

Well, if you really can't

Well, if you really can't scrape together the $2 per month for a php host then buy a domain name for $10 per year at godaddy and use their free hosting they give you with the purchase of the domain name. If you can't come up with the $10 - $34 per year then I'm sure you have a friend or a friend of a friend that can let you piggy back on their host.

Looking for work-arounds will cost you more than money. First it will eat up your time trying to hack things together that won't work anyway and then you'll lose your sanity and end up shooting your computer.

Actually...with Webplus Shop

Actually...with Webplus Shop there isnt a whole lot left for us to do...we just want to change up the category tree with category images instead of just text and some other things. I dont have friends that I can piggy back on or else I wouldn't be posting in every forum on the planet to find the best solution. I need something that is easy enough to use for someone with no programming skills. Webplus Shop has a WYSIWYG editor that does all the HTML stuff for me. There are just something things like what I mentioned that you can't do without editing the layout files.

I am in need to a shopping

I am in need to a shopping cart solution, but don't know which to pick from, so I would like to ask you guys for opinions on good software you've had experience in and would recommend. I've been fiddling with Miva Merchant and it looks to be pretty good.

Basically I need a software that'll do real-time credit card processing. By the way, anyone here have experience getting a merchant account? Is that a simple process or a difficult one?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Yasmin, The guy that I talked

Yasmin,
The guy that I talked too walked me through the process of getting setup with a secure payment processor. It was much easier than I had thought. If you are just starting out I would recommend that you talk to them. I am in the same boat and they did a very good job at steering me in the right direction. Tell them that Kevin with PBR Band sent ya!

For my clients I recommend

For my clients I recommend setting up Authorize.net
They have a very good API that's extremely easy to setup.
With PayPal or any other merchant account you're going to be paying money in the long run and PayPal's API is crap.
