Hello. I'm learning as I go, never had any formal classroom training. This seems like it should be a no-brainer, but it is tricky.

Reference: http://copynook.com/

If you look at the above page, you'll see that in Safari, the text is pretty much ideally placed against the background image. However, in Firefox, text doesn't align as well and almost runs off the image. How do I change my code so that Firefox looks like Safari?

The longer the background image, the worse the problem becomes. For each page on the website, I use a differently sized background image.

Thank you for your help!

You might need to post some

You might need to post some images highlighting what you're seeing. I guess you are talking about the "Copy Nook" test. I checked in FF and Safari and didn't notice any difference.

Font metrics do vary between browsers and between OS. This is particularly true when the preferred font isn't available. Try to build your page to be able to deal with these variations.

Hi Chris. Take a look here:

Hi Chris.

Take a look here: http://copynook.com/html/newabout.html

I probably should have posted this page initially.

You should see the text running off the background image in Firefox. The problem is more noticeable.

Same principle applies to the first page I posted, difference being the amount of brown image below the highlighted box.

Thanks for your help.
