First time posting, I have been working on a website for the Tank Museum UK - it works really well with Firefox - but IE 7 isnt having it!

looks the same in FF as it
looks the same in FF as it does in IE8, and IE7. The footer is broke. Put the footer inside the container. Also, validate your code
First basic few steps in building a webpage
1. Gather and collect content.
2. Organize the content into meaningful semantic valid HTML

4. Style using CSS
