Why not try it the other way

Why not try it the other way round?

As in, just put the FF stylesheet link first, then the IF IE statement after it, so it overrides it?

You have the syntax wrong.

You have the syntax wrong. You've shown the link to be inside a normal comment.

<!<span style="color:red">--</span>[if !IE]>
<link media="all" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Cssff.css" />
<![endif]<span style="color:red">--</span>>
Two ways to fix it:
<!--[if !IE]>-->
<link media="all" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Cssff.css" />
<!--<![endif]-->

<![if !IE]>
<link media="all" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Cssff.css" />
<![endif]>

It's the double hyphens that delimit a comment.

cheers,

gary
