What does this icon mean?

First basic few steps in building a webpage
1. Gather and collect content.
2. Organize the content into meaningful semantic valid HTML
3. Design the prototype

so if there's a 'first'

so if there's a 'first' prize medal (best answer) is there a silver (second best) and bronze (third best) medal too? Cause otherwise wouldn't it be better if the icon was just a medal, without the '1' on it? :?

In the immortal words of Joseph Jackson "Second place is first loser". No medal for #2.

Now go sit down over there and contain your OCD for a minute. Wink

Doesn't seem to have been

Doesn't seem to have been too popular a feature because I think I've only ever seen one of those icons in a thread.

Can we not refer to it in the sense that it is a 'prize' as it gives out the wrong connotation.
It's purpose is intended as a marker to point out the reply that best answers the question and that users can see as a marker directing them quickly to relevant info especially if it's a long thread which may take time to sort/read through; but Tony might correct me on this point?

Then again it does look like a prize rosette, it needs photoshopping.

Abso-bloomin'-lutely!!! I second that! Laughing out loud

Noticed quite a while ago that the icon went missing (about the time Wolfie got mentioned in despatches) but never did like that icon and I thought it was by design - the fact that it went missing, I mean...if we can't have the kitten can we have a ribbon across the top RH corner or something?

Nah...it's gotta be a kitten. With hearts. Or hearts and flowers.

The icon is still missing, I set T's as best answer. Maybe there's a bit of AI that has overruled me. Smile

Just thinking, could there be an icon for bad answers? I think I found one,

Smile. Just sayin'
