In an attempt to increase the quality of responses, I have created a simple module that allows the author of the topic to mark one reply as the best reply.
To mark a reply as the best reply just click the 'Best Reply' link at the bottom of the comment.
A link to that reply is created in the topic links, which will help people looking for answers to go to the best reply quickly.
Moderators have the ability to change or remove the best reply if they feel the system is being abused or whatever.
We could quite easily provide listings such as the member who provided the most best reply's for the month, all time best replier, although we may get sick of seeing Hugo in that list 
You should start to see the links available on comments to new topics from now.
I'd suggest that it would be good form to mark a reply as the best reply once it has been proved as a helpful solution.
Feel free to offer suggestions or improvements.

It's a good point that it perhaps should only be marked once that response/fix has proven to be the one that resolves the issue.
Can there be multiple marks or simply one per thread?

To see the mark best reply link you need to be the topic author.
