There's a couple of interesting concept videos to check out.
Much of what is shown seems to imply closer integration between browser and desktop. I can't help thinking back to the Microsoft Anti Trust case

Sounds somewhat like the
Sounds somewhat like the goal of having the browser as the central item of software capable of essentially performing the function of any number of disparate programmes we need at the moment; haven't visited the links though!
