Problem with pos and size of Div

Hello... first timer on the forum:)

The lines on the picture are from mspaint Smiling

Anyway,

div# 1 have fixed size of 800px.
div# 5&8 i would like them to be at the bottom of their 'parent' div.
div# 6&7 These have a fixed size of 602px,but i would like them to not have a fixed size. that they expand to the edge without crossing the borders and marginals...

i cant get this to work, since im not used to work with vertical menus:)

anybody knows what attributes i should look into??

Well, when it is only about vertical menu, look into display: block
