Coincidence?

The site is acting very weird. A lot of posts appear to be missing or not being listed correctly in the 'recent posts' thing and when I first typed in the site address today I was greeted with a 'welcome to drupal' type page.
Anyway, I was thinking it might be a site error, but then realised that would be quite a coincidence having gained my third star yesterday. What's the dealio? Are things slightly different as you gain more stars, or are things just not alright in the hood?

After much stuffing around and wrongly editing many posts to make them visible I have rebuilt the permissions for the site and everything seems to be back to normal.
