I think you have to have 100
I think you have to have 100 posts before a signature will show. Maybe it's 50. It stops people from coming here just to advertise another site.

It's actually ten posts
It's actually ten posts before the sig line will show and as T says it's to prevent those who simply post in order to gain links, promote their site etc. It should be something that's earned through contributing to the community.
