What's with Safari doing so

What's with Safari doing so poorly compared to Konqueror? I was under the impression that Apple was keeping Safari's KHTML engine revved up, and delaying returning patches to the community. Do I hear wrong?

cheers,

gary

I did see something about

I did see something about this a while back.

As I recall, the underlying engine is open source and under constant development. Apple may be slow in returning any patches to upstream, but its also not constantly updating Safari to the latest KHTML patch level.

Release early, release often too much for Apple?

That's the key, then. I had thought Apple was staying current with KHTML plus adding their own stuff.

cheers,

gary
