I just saw this on Digg and thought I would share the news. Apple has just released the Safari Browser for Windows PC's, which will allow all of us to test our sites on Safari without having to search for a Mac. In fact I'm on Safari right now Smile .

The download link is here: http://www.apple.com/safari/

Need a Wordpress site? I'm your guy.

Apple calls it a beta

Apple calls it a beta version but it could be called Alpha.
A lot serious bugs for this really unstable version.

What sort of bugs? As long as it's good enough for me to test pages in locally without having to resort to Browsercam, then I'll be happy.

Us ancients with Windows

Us ancients with Windows 2000 appear to be out of luck. Sad

Tyssen, FWIW, it seems OK to me. Hasn't craashed at all whilst I have been playing with it, and I haven't seen any rendering bugs. A few I knew of from an old version were handled OK.

The default scheme is somewhat gray!

Yeah I've been using it today too with no problems but have read a lot of comments from Windows users who have.

Seems to be many of the issues are to do with using english on Windows with non-english internationalisation settings.

Double post???
I experience problems with the new version : I have to log in more than once, I also get cached/old pages even when I'm logged in.
Is there any way to delete a useless post?

That may be the problem.
The most annoying problem was that it crashed my system.
It stops working if I change the home page.
It doesn't work with localhost (adds www to 127.0.0.1
It refuses to display lists, thus menus.
It also refuses to display anchors with borders...

Beta 2 seems to work now

Beta 2 seems to work now with non-english internationalisation settings.
It can be used with localhost.
The home page can be changed.
It hasn't crashed my system yet.
Unfortunately, it uses Internet Explorer settings for a proxy.
