Hi

Can someone advise on what would be the best way to create a pop up window with animation(text on photo background) advert that includes a button option not to be shown again?

I am assuming a javascript pop up window including an animated gif with a button and database involvement. OR is using flash and ???

Many thanks

You are right with Java

You could use a flash script but what you are ultimately doing is using javascript because you will still have to call the .js functions either it's the win.open function or any other functions using actionscript e.g.

_root.openWinCenter = function (
url, winName, w, h, toolbar, location, directories, status, menubar, scrollbars, resizable)
{getURL ("javascript:var myWin; if(!myWin || myWin.closed){myWin = window.open('" + url + "','" + winName + "','" + "width=" + w + ",height=" + h + ",toolbar=" + toolbar + ",location=" + location + ",directories=" + directories + ",status=" + status + ",menubar=" + menubar + ",scrollbars=" + scrollbars + ",resizable=" + resizable + ",top='+((screen.height/2)-(" + h/2 + "))+',left='+((screen.width/2)-(" + w/2 + "))+'" + "')}else{myWin.focus();};void(0);");
}

but then again flash gives you the flexibility with art.

Cheers...

so it seems a javascript pop

so it seems a javascript pop up window with a flash animation embedded in it?

My problem is how do I get the button with an option not to show the animation again, even if the user revisits the website? Does that have to be done in asp?? I am not sure about the functonality at all
